Eating in CdMx

Mexican

  • El Parnita (very tasty and original tacos in a relaxed environment)
  • Sanborns Azulejos (mostly about the building and its history than the food)
  • La Siembra Comedor (a hidden spot with great takes on Mexican cuisine)
  • Campo Baja (a mix of seafood and meat on an airy terrace)
  • El Tigre Silencioso (inventive northern Mexican cuisine)
  • La Docena (one of our favorite seafood places, we go very often)
  • Limosneros (modern takes on Mexican food in a unique building in downtown)
  • El Cardenal (traditional Mexican food, try conchas de nata, the one on Av. Juárez 70, https://maps.app.goo.gl/f2AZSD8XpLgsX3gGA)

Spanish and others

  • Barra de Fran (traditional Spanish cuisine in a very pleasant, chic, small restaurant with outdoor seating)
  • Saks San Ángel (international, on a nice tranquil colonial plaza, check out the tequila collection inside)
  • San Ángel Inn (international, inside an old hacienda, best margaritas in town)
  • Ling Ling (mostly go for the amazing view of the city from 56th floor)
  • Zanaya Four Seasons (brunch in a colonial garden)
  • Belfiore (very cozy and family ambiance, very well done Italian, try the pizzas)
  • Marmota (creative and tasty dishes with unusual ingredients, airy and pleasant)
  • Milk (our favorite pizzas in town, very cozy spot, same building as El Tigre Silencioso, try to get a table in the central patio/well)
  • ONA (outdoor spot with an inventive and constantly changing menu, great when it’s nice out)
  • Trastevere (chic Italian spot)
  • Havre 77 (Great French cuisine in a mansion)
  • Sud 777 (No. 31 on Latin America’s 50 best restaurants, very creative and modern cuisine in a unique setting)
  • Dooriban (Casual and tasty Korean)
  • Quintonil (No. 9 on World’s 50 best restaurants)

About us

We’ve been friends for many years before we started dating. We met in 2012 through some mutual friends from Evgeny’s work and Maritza’s university. We hung out (and got hungover) all over Roma and Condesa in house parties, restaurants, clubs, etc. Maritza became very good friends with Evgeny’s sister and would often come to family events.

We started seeing each other more frequently in late 2021 and started dating in July 2022 and moved together in August 2022 (yep, one month after we started dating).

Maritza said “yes” on July 9th, 2023 and we’re getting married on the 24th of February, 2024 (24.02.24 in case you missed it).
